Miss Clinton visited Abuja, Nigeria’s capital today, as part of a trip organized by her father’s foundation, the Bill Clinton Global Initiative.
While in Abuja, Clinton visited Aso Rock, where she met with President Goodluck Jonathan. She spoke about the Clinton Health Access Initiative and its efforts to reduce child mortality in Nigeria, and voiced her support for increased health coverage in Nigeria. She also lauded work being done to end diarrhea-related deaths of children in Nigeria by distributing rehydration tablets.
An estimate by The Clinton Health Access Initiative shows that if those rehydration tablets are available to children, it could help prevent as many as 220,000 child deaths a year in Nigeria.
Wow! The initiative is most welcome.
